FAQ
Q1: How does quartz ingot compare to synthetic fused silica?
A: Higher temperature resistance but similar optical properties. Synthetic silica has better UV transmission below 200nm.
Q2: Can quartz ingot be directly used without machining?
A: No – requires cutting/polishing for functional applications.
Q3: What's the maximum usable temperature?
A: 1100°C continuous (short-term to 1450°C). Above 1200°C, gradual devitrification occurs.
Q4: Are there metallic impurities?
A: Our standard grade has <10ppm metals.
