Q: Can you customize quartz flange?

A: Yes, we can. We can customize your size according to your demands.

Q: How high a pressure can a quartz flange withstand?

A: Applicable to 10⁻⁹ mbar ultra-high vacuum, flange thickness needs to be adjusted according to size (e.g. DN100 flange is recommended to be ≥20mm at 10⁻⁶ mbar).
Positive pressure application: Typical pressure resistance 0.5~1 MPa (depending on the structure), local stress concentration needs to be avoided.

Q: What are the machining limitations of quartz flanges?

A: Risk of brittleness: Mohs hardness 7, but poor impact resistance, drilling/cutting requires laser or diamond tools to avoid mechanical stress.
Precision requirements: Flatness must be ≤0.02mm, surface roughness Ra≤0.1μm to ensure sealing.

A: Yes, when paired with compatible gaskets (e.g., copper for ultra-high vacuum, Viton for low/medium vacuum) and flanges (ISO-CF for 10⁻¹⁰ mbar, ISO-KF for 10⁻⁶ mbar). Ensure sealing surfaces are clean and free of scratches.

Q: Does the quartz material block UV light?

A: No, quartz transmits UV light down to 200nm, making it ideal for UV-sensitive applications. For UV-blocking needs, specialized coated quartz or alternative materials are available (contact us for custom solutions).
